Handal (Pty) Ltd (“Handal”, “we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information.

3.1 Information You Provide — This includes full name, email address, phone number, company details (for Clients), portfolio, skills, and professional information (for Creatives), project briefs and booking details, and messages and files shared within the platform.
3.2 Account and Usage Information — This includes login activity, platform interactions, booking activity, and workspace actions (approvals, submissions, messages).
3.3 Payment Information — Payments are processed through third-party providers. Handal does not store full card or banking details. We may store transaction references, payment status, and billing-related metadata.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Facilitate bookings between Clients and Creatives
- Process payments
- Enable workspace functionality (messages, deliverables, approvals)
- Communicate with you regarding bookings and platform activity
- Improve platform performance and user experience
- Comply with legal and regulatory requirements
5. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We only share information where necessary.
5.1 Between Users — Clients and Creatives share relevant project information within the workspace.
5.2 Service Providers — We may share data with payment processors (e.g. PayFast, Ozow), hosting and infrastructure providers, and analytics tools. These providers process information only to support platform operations.
5.3 Legal Requirements — We may disclose information if required to comply with South African law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the rights and safety of Handal or its users.
6. Data Storage and Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. This includes secure servers and infrastructure, access controls, and encrypted data transmission where applicable.
No system is completely secure, and use of the platform is at your own risk.
7. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as your account is active, as required to provide services, and as required for legal, financial, or regulatory compliance.
We may retain certain records (e.g. transactions, agreements) even after account closure where required by law.
8. Your Rights
Under POPIA, you have the right to:
- Access your personal information
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information, where applicable
