This Professional Code of Conduct (“Code”) sets out the standard of behaviour expected from all users of the Handal platform, including Creatives and Clients.
This Code supports the proper functioning of the platform and applies in addition to the Terms of Service and other applicable policies.
Use of the platform is conditional on compliance with this Code.
Handal provides infrastructure for booking, communication, delivery, and payment.
Handal does not manage projects, supervise users, guarantee outcomes, or act as an authority over user relationships.
Users are responsible for their own conduct and interactions.
Creatives are expected to: represent their skills, experience, and portfolio accurately; deliver work in line with the agreed Project Brief; communicate within a reasonable timeframe through the platform; meet agreed deadlines or notify the Client of delays through the workspace; submit all deliverables through the platform; maintain confidentiality of all Client information; and ensure they have the right to perform and display the work they offer.
Creatives may not: misrepresent their work or experience; submit work they do not have rights to; or share Client information outside the engagement.
Clients are expected to: provide clear and accurate Project Briefs; respect the agreed scope of work; use the platform for communication, approvals, and delivery; review deliverables within the defined approval window; and treat Creatives professionally and respectfully.
Clients may not: misrepresent project requirements; request work that violates platform policies or applicable law; or use the platform in a way that disrupts or abuses Creatives.
All users must act in good faith, communicate respectfully, and use the platform for legitimate professional purposes.
The following conduct is not permitted: harassment, abuse, or intimidation; discriminatory behaviour; fraudulent or misleading activity; and any unlawful conduct under South African law.
Creatives must only display work they created or work they have the right to display.
False or misleading portfolios may result in removal from the platform.
Users are expected to use the platform as the primary workspace for bookings, maintain accurate and current information, and follow the structured workflow for bookings, approvals, and delivery.
All content shared on the platform must comply with the Handal Content Policy.
Users are responsible for all content they upload, share, or produce.
Users may report concerns or conduct issues to: support@handal.co.za
Reports should include relevant details to allow review.
Where conduct appears to breach this Code, Handal may restrict or remove access to the platform, or remove content that violates platform policies.
Handal does not act as a court, arbitrator, or mediator and does not determine legal liability between users.
All users are responsible for their own conduct, engage with other users at their own risk, and are responsible for complying with applicable laws.
This Code is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
